Grand Caravan Nameplate Lives on with Chrysler for 2021

Grand Caravan Nameplate Lives on with Chrysler for 2021

The Grand Caravan has been one of the top-selling family vehicles for the last few decades. Because it is such a popular vehicle, many drivers were confused and saddened by Dodge's decision to stop production on the Grand Caravan in 2020. However, if you were one of the millions of consumers that was upset about the news, then fear not, the Grand Caravan will continue to live on through Chrysler. It may look slightly different than the vehicle that you are used to. But there will be several similar features as well as a slew of new improvements.

Why is Dodge Stopping Production on the Grand Caravan?

Recently, Dodge announced that the brand will be transitioning to producing mostly high-performance vehicles. And while the Grand Caravan is a versatile and popular vehicle, it no longer fits in with its other vehicle line.

For the last few decades, the Grand Caravan name has continued to grow in popularity. One of the reasons why the Grand Caravan has become a household name is because of its connection to grassroots hockey sponsorship programs for the last 15 years. Because of this, Chrysler has decided to adopt this popular nameplate so that the Grand Caravan can continue to live on.

Is the Chrysler Grand Caravan the Same Vehicle as the Dodge Grand Caravan?

The Chrysler Grand Caravan shares a platform with the Chrysler Pacifica. However, it offers more cost-efficient features to help make it a more budget-friendly family vehicle. The Chrysler Grand Caravan will only be sold in Canada. In America, this same vehicle is called the Chrysler Voyager.  This impressive vehicle comes with a wide range of advanced features while having a smaller price tag than most other vehicles in its class.

2021 Chrysler Grand Caravan Features

The Chrysler Grand Caravan comes with a simplistic, yet versatile, design. The exterior features a sleek and sculpted body that is highlighted by the dramatic sloping hood that points towards the narrow grille and helps to give the exterior a more aerodynamic appearance.

The interior features three rows of spacious seating that provides plenty of legroom and headspace for all occupants. The rear cargo area is also spacious and provides up to 32 cubic feet of cargo space. However, if you need a little more room, the rear bench seat can be easily tucked away in the floorboard thanks to the popular Stow 'n Go system. There are also a few underfloor storage compartments located in the front row to help keep your small items safe and secure.

Also in the front row, you will find a large 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display that comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also a standard 3.5-inch digital instrument cluster that is fully customizable. If you want to entertain the passengers in the back seat, the 2021 Grand Caravan also comes with an available rear entertainment system that features a large overhead monitor and a DVD player.
