2023 Ram 1500

Ram 1500 pickup trucks have been among the most popular heavy-duty vehicles since 1981. Over 40 years later, this lineup hasn’t aged a day; quite the contrary, they seem to get younger and fresher with every new version. The 2023 Ram 1500 isn’t out yet, but the release is expected for the end of 2022 and you can already book it, which is another reason to read our review.

Performance and Driveability

There are four engines available for the eight trims in this lineup:

  • 5.7-L eTorque HEMI V-8 -- Delivers 395 horsepower and torque capacity of 410 lb-ft
  • 6.2-L HEMI V-8 -- Delivers 702hp and 650 lb.-ft of torque capacity
  • 3.0-L EcoDiesel V-6 -- Delivers 260hp and 480 lb-ft of torque capacity
  • 3.6-L eTorque Pentastar V-6 -- Delivers 305hp and a torque capacity of 269 lb-ft
The payload capacity varies according to trim and can go up to 1,043kg, while the towing capacity goes up to 5,783kg.

Interior and Exterior

Both interior and exterior designs have been improved for the 2023 lineup, and you can also expect special editions, like the Elite and RED. The new Ram 1500 is more spacious than the previous version and has more interior storage space. The back seats are climatized, reclinable, and include extra under-seat storage. There are relocatable anchor points, a bed divider, and a multifunctional tailgate.

Other interior features include flat-load floors, tie-down rings, and RamBins. The RamBox, an exclusive cargo management system, helps you make the best out of the available space. All-terrain 22-inch tires are available for higher trims.

Tech and Safety

The new Ram 1500 lineup has a larger 12-inch touchscreen display with about 25 options and a better gauge cluster. All trims are equipped with safety features and top-notch technology to make everybody’s journey easier and more enjoyable. For the first time, drivers can have a heads-up display, projecting speed and other info right on the windshield.

Additional safety features include Speed Control (an off-road cruise control system), automatic brake assist, forward collision warning, and blindspot monitoring. New packages, like the BackCountry Package, are also available, with additional off-road features.

Trims and Prices

There’s no official price information yet, although Ram isn’t expected to go much further than last year’s price tag. Based on early information, we expect eight trims to come out: Tradesman, Tradesman HFE, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and TRX.
