2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe

The new version of the legendary Grand Cherokee is already out and showing why it’s one of the best options in the PHEV SUV market. The 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe is a hybrid SUV with a powerful engine and an EV battery, allowing for different driving modes. As expected, the 2023 version has quite exciting improvements over its predecessor. Here’s what you can expect from it.

Performance and Driveability

All trims come with a hybrid turbocharged engine and fuel displacement of 2.0L/122. The EV battery is powerful enough to keep the vehicle going for up to 42km without gas. As for fuel consumption, it makes about 9.7L/100km (highway) and 10.3L/100km (city). We’re talking about a pretty sturdy lineup, with 375 hp, torque capacity of 470 lb-ft, and an impressive towing capacity of 2,721kg.

The eight-speed automatic transmission is also standard across all trims and the four-wheel drivetrain. These three driving modes are available: Hybrid, Electric, and E-Save. The Hybrid option uses a mix of gas and electricity, while the E-Save runs only on gas. The Electric mode runs solely on the EV battery. There are also two submodes: Battery Save and Battery Charge. The battery can be charged using both Level 1 and Level 2 ACs.

Interior Details

This model comes with more interesting interior details, like a massive 26cm screen for the front passengers. There’s also a second LCD screen for the co-pilot, which is helpful for navigation, real-time tracking of road conditions, cameras, and much more. Backseat passengers weren’t forgotten either, they can enjoy a built-in HD Fire TV. There’s plenty of storage space in all trims, but it can be further increased by folding the backseats.

Tech and safety features were also upgraded for the new line, which has improved its noise control. All models connect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Plus, it comes with two LCD screens, steering wheel controls, Uconnect External Memory Control, and a sound system with 10 speakers. Higher trims can upgrade it to a 10-speaker Alpine sound system.
