If you are deciding to purchase a Ram pickup truck, then you may be considering the Ram 1500 or the Ram 1500 Classic. Let's review these two trucks to see which one is right for you.
2021 Ram 1500 vs 2021 Ram 1500 Classic
Both the Ram 1500 Classic and the Ram 1500 are equipped with the following engines:
- 3.6L Pentastar V6 gas engine 305 hp and 269 lb.-ft. of torque
- 5.7L HEMI V8 engine delivers 395 hp and 410 lb.-ft. of torque
The difference between the two trucks in terms of the engine is that the Ram 1500 offers one additional engine option, which is the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6, which delivers 260 hp and 480 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Ram 1500 Classic does have a leg up when it comes to the cab and bed options. It offers drivers three options: Regular, Quad, and Crew. The Ram 1500 offers two options, which are the Quad and the Crew.
The bed options for the Ram 1500 Classic include three options as well. These are:
- A standard 6-ft. 4-in. bed
- A 5-ft. 7-in. bed
- An 8-ft. bed
The Ram 1500 has the first two options but does not have the 8-ft. option. The Ram 1500 does have a lighter frame, so it will be less weight.
Another more subtle difference between the two vehicles is the Classic was designed to have a more rugged appearance. So, it may look more "classic" to drivers. It has some classic styling like a basic black grille, black door handles, and an optional black front bumper with body-coloured rub strip.
