There is no denying that the 2021 Ram 1500 is a capable and well-equipped pickup truck. The 3.6-litre V6 engine comes standard on the Tradesmen and the Big Horn. The engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission and also features an eTorque mild hybrid system that utilizes electric power to add 90 lb.-ft of torque to the engine. Without the system, the engine is still impressive and adds 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft of torque. It can tow up to 7,730 lbs. and has a payload capacity of 2,300 lbs.
5.7-litre Hemi V8
The iconic 5.7-litre Hemi V8 engine is powerful and impressive. The engine is able to deliver up to 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft of torque. This engine is also able to tow up to 11,610 pounds and has a payload capacity of 1,850 pounds. The engine can be found on the Sport, Laramie, Rebel, Limited, Limited Longhorn, and is available on the Big Horn and the Tradesmen.
The 5.7-litre Hemi V8 engine also comes with an available eTorque system which is available in the Limited, Laramie, and Limited Longhorn trim levels. The eTorque system adds 130 lb.-ft of launch torque and has a payload capacity of 1,940 pounds.
6.2 Supercharged Hemi V8
The 6.2-litre Supercharged Hemi V8 engine is only available on the TRX model. This powerful engine offers instantaneous torque and is able to go from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds. The 6.2-litre V8 is also paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and is able to deliver a heart-stopping 702 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft of torque. With this engine, the Ram 1500 can tow up to 8,100 pounds and has a maximum payload capacity of 1,350 pounds.
3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6
This impressive diesel-powered engine is available on the Laramie, Rebel, Limited, and Longhorn Limited trim levels. This engine is not only powerful it is but also fuel-efficient. It can deliver up to 260 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft of torque. It also has a maximum towing capacity of 12,560 pounds and a maximum payload capacity of 2,060 pounds.
