What's New for 2021
The 2021 refresh sees two new Wrangler powertrains available to Richmond drivers. The 4xe is the model's first foray into the hybrid market, while there's a powerful new V8 engine available with the off-road Rubicon trim.
Gas and Diesel Options
The standard 2021 Wrangler is equipped with a 3.6L gasoline V6 which makes 285 horsepower and 260lb-ft of torque. The output is passed through either a manual six-speed transmission or an eight-speed automatic, with all-wheel drive standard across the range. For higher torque, a 3.0L turbodiesel is available which drops the horsepower to 260hp but makes a solid 422lb-ft. If you're looking for the ultimate in power, then the V8 option delivers an amazing 470hp.
The 4xe Hybrid
New for 2021 is the Wrangler's first hybrid powertrain featured in the 4xe trim. A 2.0L turbo gasoline engine is paired with dual electric motors to give a total output of 375 horsepower and 470lb-ft of torque. That impressive amount of power is responsible for a 0-100kmh acceleration figure of just six seconds, but it doesn't come at a high fuel cost. As well as offering a 40km all-electric range, the 4xe boasts a great combined fuel economy rating of just 4.7L / 100km.
Advanced Infotainment
Lower-end Wrangler trims have a 7" infotainment touchscreen, which is upped to a 8.4" model in higher trims. But whichever size of display is fitted, both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are included as standard, with built-in navigation an available option.
Active Safety Systems
Lastly, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler is packed with active safety systems, with available highlights including: • Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts. • Forward collision warnings and automatic emergency braking. • Adaptive cruise control. • Automatic high beams.
